What is an Major Learning Outcome (MLO)?

A MLO is a set of guidelines for assessing a student's abilities before they graduate. Every graduate from SBS must demonstrate an understanding of how to use theory and have a working knowledge of theorists in their field. They must learn different quantitative and qualitative means of doing research. A student should comprehend the specific scholarship within their area of concentration. Finally, in a continuation of CSUMB's spirit of service learning and a commitment to producing real scholarly work, the skills learned in the classroom must be applied to real-world scenarios.
