Anthropology

Anthropology is covered as a Concentration in the Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Archaeology

Archaeology is covered as a Concentration in the Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Archival Studies

Archival Studies are covered in the Social History concentration in the Social and Behavioral Sciences. The Fort Ord Archive is also available for students to do real-world archival work and research.

Civic Planning

Students pursuing a career in civic planning often study Geographic Information Systems, which is used extensively in that field. Also, students find the Political Economy concentration helpful to prepare for a job in planning.

Counseling

Most students pursuing a Counseling career choose the Psychology Minor.

Criminology

Students pursuing a Criminology often enter the Sociology or Psychology Minor.

Economics

The Political Economy concentration in the Social and Behavioral Sciences and Global Studies Major both cover Economics.

Education (History or Social Science)

Future History or Social Science Teachers should enter the History/Social Science Teaching Track program, which waves the CSET requirement for these fields and serves as a fast-track to a single-subject credential for Jr. High or High School. Future elementary school teachers or other single-subject teachers (i.e. English or Math) should contact the Teacher Education Department.

Ethnography

Ethnography is covered in the Anthropology concentration in the Social and Behavioral Sciences.

GIS is covered in the Geography/GIS Concentration in the Social and Behavioral Sciences.

International Relations

Students interested in International Relations or International Law should look into the Global Studies Major.

Law

Pre-Law students often receive a degree in the Social and Behavioral Sciences within an aligned concentration field (a field of study who's methods and theories are closely aligned with legal studies). These concentrations are Social History and Political Economy. Students interested in International Law should look into the Global Studies Major.

Peace Studies

Peace Studies is a Minor and is often taken with a Global Stuides Major.

Political Economy

Political Economy is a concentration in the Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Psychology

The Psychology Major is available for students wishing to study Psychology.

Religious Studies

Students interested in Religious Studie should choose the Global Studies Major.

School Counseling

Most students pursuing a Counseling career choose the Psychology Major.
